Hyderabad: The North Zone Task Force busted an online betting racket and nabbed three persons at Ramgopalpet here on Wednesday. Police seized cash of Rs 3.7 lakh and other material from them.
The arrested persons were identified as N Kalyan, an organizer, R Ramesh Babu and Y Raviteja, both punters. The prime suspect Sandeep from Pune is absconding.
Police said Sandeep offered live bets on a variety of popular online games and sports through mobile betting applications. He accepted bets from punters and made easy money. He appointed Kalyan to collect the betting money from punters on a commission basis, police said, adding that the arrested persons were handed over to the Ramgopalpet police.
