Operation Muskaan-XI: Rachakonda Police Commissioner vows strict action against traffickers
Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu has announced intensified efforts to eradicate child labour and human trafficking under Operation Muskaan-XI. Special teams are rescuing children, and worksite schools are being established to support the education of migrant children
Hyderabad: Stringent measures are being taken to eliminate child labour that destroys the lives of children, said Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu.
Speaking at a convergence meeting held for ‘Operation Muskaan-XI’ on Monday, the Commissioner said child labour has become a disease in society, and opined that it is destroying the childhood of many innocent children.
“The root cause of child labour is poverty. Children are caught in the clutches of begging, thereby losing their golden future. There is a possibility that children, who get caught in the clutches of anti-social elements, sometimes become juvenile criminals,” he said.
Sudheer Babu said stringent measures were being taken to eliminate human trafficking and child labour from Rachakonda. “We are taking a tough stand on human trafficking. Special teams have rescued children, and cases have been registered against traffickers,” he added.
He said worksite schools are being set up for workers who have migrated from other Odisha and Bihar, among other States, so that their children can continue with their education.
