Hyderabad: Senior politician and former BJP leader Motkupalli Narsimhulu on Sunday said the Opposition parties need not doubt the commitment of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on implementation of Dalit Bandhu across the State. The Chief Minister had taken up socio-economic upliftment of Dalits in the State on a massive scale which was not attempted by any other CM in the past, he said.
“I have full confidence in the Chief Minister since I can see the honesty in his actions for implementing Dalit Bandhu effectively. The Opposition need not have any doubts on this count. If the scheme is not implemented as they fear, I will sacrifice my life at Yadagirigutta for the cause,” he declared.
Objecting to the false propaganda being spread by the Opposition parties against Dalit Bandhu scheme, Narsimhulu observed a day-long ‘deeksha’ to mark his protest, at his residence in Hyderabad on Sunday. He garlanded the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at Tank Bund before taking up the ‘deeksha’.
Narsimhulu said the Opposition was trying to create unnecessary fear among the people for political mileage. “During three decades of my political career, I have seen many Chief Ministers but none could take up such a massive programme for the benefit of Dalits in the past,” he said, and appealed to all to welcome and support the scheme which was launched with a good intention. He termed TPCC president A Revanth Reddy as an iron leg who destroyed TDP in Telangana and predicted that Congress would meet similar fate under his leadership.
