Opposition creating hurdles for Future City, Musi projects: Revanth Reddy
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy accused opposition parties of obstructing the Musi Rejuvenation project and Bharat Future City through legal challenges. He said the government would continue with both projects and alleged efforts were being made to derail Telangana's development plans.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has accused opposition parties of creating hurdles in the execution of the Musi Rejuvenation project and the development of Bharat Future City. Speaking at the Vanamahotsavam programme in Gurramguda on Thursday, he alleged that cases were being filed in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the High Court against the Bharat Future City project.
“People who do not have a future are claiming that they will scrap Future City,” he said. The Chief Minister alleged that a few people were conspiring to bring polluting pharmaceutical industries back to the area. He said the State government had earmarked 15,000 acres for parks and greenery out of the 30,000 acres proposed for Bharat Future City.
“Despite the hurdles, and even if people consume endrin and die, I will construct Bharat Future City,” Revanth Reddy said. He urged local residents to chase away leaders who were demanding that the project be scrapped. Continuing his attack on the opposition, the Chief Minister said opposition leaders were more polluted than the Musi river itself.
He asserted that the State government would go ahead with the Musi Rejuvenation project regardless of the campaigns against it. The 55-km stretch from Gandipet to Gowrelli would be developed to international standards and would be far better than its present condition, he said.
Earlier, Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu alleged that certain vested interests had deliberately stalled Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation’s plans to develop an industrial park on lands that did not belong to the Forest department. “Using AI, TRS leaders created images of trees and wild animals and claimed that the land belonged to Hyderabad Central University. They stalled the development,” he alleged.
