Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) has instituted the Vice Chancellor Research Awards for excellence in research from this year.
For the first time such an initiative has been taken up and three faculty members would be presented with the awards which would carry a citation, a certificate and a cash prize for the teacher awardee, the OU said in a press release on Tuesday.
The research output should include high impact research papers, paper presentation and research projects which would be shortlisted by an expert committee headed by the Dean of the respective faculties, it said adding that the assessment period is from December 1, 2020 to November 30, 2021.
One award would be given in each of the three categories- Arts & Social Sciences, Commerce, Management, Law Education and Oriental Languages (category 1), Engineering, Technology, Informatics and Pharmacy (category 2) and Science (category 3). Applications were invited from the university faculty and the last date to apply is December 20.
