Osmania University faculty bags international research project
Prof. Satish Kumar is the principal investigator from the Indian side and Prof. Peter Virtic, Faculty of Energy Technology, University of Maribor, Slovenia is the principal investigator from the Slovenian side, the OU said in a press release on Sunday.

Hyderabad: Prof. P Satish Kumar, Department of Electrical Engineering, University College of Engineering, Osmania University (OU), has received an international joint research project titled ‘Performance Enhancement of Grid Connected Multilevel Inverter based Wind Energy Conversion System with Low Voltage Ride Through Capability using Power Conditioners’ from the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India and Government of Slovenia, on scientific and technological cooperation.
Prof. Satish Kumar is the principal investigator from the Indian side and Prof. Peter Virtic, Faculty of Energy Technology, University of Maribor, Slovenia is the principal investigator from the Slovenian side, the OU said in a press release on Sunday.
The main objective of the project is to develop a novel low voltage ride through control method for wind energy conversion systems during fault conditions besides to implement advanced pulse width modulation techniques in multilevel inverters to improve power quality, it said.
The proposed grant for the joint research project is Rs. 20.80 lakh from the DST and EUR 1,99,152 from the Slovenian Research Agency for three years. Both the principal investigators will travel to either of the countries twice in a year and participate in combined research activities, it said.
