Sangareddy: Telangana Diagnostic Centre in Sangareddy Government Hospital has conducted 13,745 diagnostic tests since February 17. Though the diagnostic centre was officially inaugurated by Finance Minister T Harish Rao on June 9, the centre here, which is equipped with all the machinery, has been offering all the services since February 17 this year as part of the lab’s dry run.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Dr Praveen, coordinator at the Government Hospital, said they were offering 57 kinds of tests without any issues.
Stating that they were also getting samples from 25 health centres from across the district by operating vehicles in four routes, Dr Praveen said that the officials were going to issue fresh tenders to rope in permanent vehicles, which will further streamline the entire process.
Meanwhile, he said that they would soon offer X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT-Scan and other services as Harish Rao promised to buy a new CT-Scan machine at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. Dr Praveen said that the State government had spent Rs 2.5 crore on each of these diagnostic centres with an aim to provide free services to patients coming to the government hospital.
K Mallesh, an attendant of a patient from Kohir, told Telangana Today that they used to go to private labs for tests in the past where they used to shell out a few thousand rupees for the simplest of tests. He thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for setting up such modern labs in government hospitals.
