Hyderabad: In one of the biggest coordinated anti-narcotics operations this year, the ‘Eagle’ Force of Telangana, in joint action with the Delhi Crime Branch and police units in Greater Noida, Gwalior, and Visakhapatnam, executed simultaneous raids across multiple States, arresting over 50 overstaying Nigerian nationals linked to an international drug cartel.
According to EAGLE Unit officials, 100 personnel from the Delhi Crime Branch and 124 officers from the Eagle Force, SP, DSPs, Inspectors, SIs and Head Constables, were deployed for the massive exercise.
Raids were conducted across 20 high-risk locations in Mehrauli, Sant Garh, Pratap Enclave, Prithvi Park, Nilothi, Chandra Nagar and Munirka.
This led to the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics, illegal contraband, and documents linked to the syndicate’s financial channels.
In Greater Noida, Gwalior and Visakhapatnam, local police joined hands with the Eagle Force, resulting in the arrest of a key drug kingpin, several drug-sale operatives and women involved in drug peddling and sex work, as well as mule account holders, who are an integral part of the cartel’s financial operations.
Senior officials said it was one of the largest deployments in recent times, noting that nearly every Eagle Force officer was placed on operational duty.
