The trio Anup Navnath Sonawane (32), Kiran Gangadhar Bomnale (28) and Vivek Rajesh (19), all natives of Maharashtra formed into a gang and were procuring the drugs and supplying to customers.
The police seized 3.5 kilograms of opium, 45 grams of poppy straw powder, cash Rs. 2.80 lakh, two wheeler, two mobile phones and a travelling bag from them
According to the police, the drugs were transported from Pakistan using drones. The Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav termed the crackdown "a big blow to trans-border narcotic network".
Two suspected drug peddlers were detained under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in Reasi and Jammu districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police here said on Sunday.
