Over 70,000 devotees throng Vemulawada temple on Maha Shivaratri
More than 70,000 devotees visited the Bheemeshwara Temple in Vemulawada on Maha Shivaratri. The three-day jatara began on Saturday, with officials and ministers offering silk cloths and authorities making special arrangements for pilgrims

Rajanna-Sircilla: A huge number of devotees thronged the Bheemeshwara Temple in Vemulawada on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri on Sunday. More than 70,000 pilgrims visited the shrine by afternoon.
The three-day Maha Shivaratri jatara commenced on Saturday. In view of renovation works at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple, arrangements for the jatara were made at the Bheemeshwara shrine. Following tradition, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Deputy Executive Officer Lokanatham and other officials presented silk cloths to Bheemeshwara Swamy on Saturday night. On Sunday, Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, along with Government Whip Adi Srinivas, presented silk cloth to the presiding deity on behalf of the State government.
In-charge Collector Garima Agarwal and other officials had darshan of Bheemeshwara Swamy. Meanwhile, scores of devotees were seen standing in queue lines to have darshan of the presiding deity.
On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, temple authorities made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of devotees.
