Mancherial: Government whip Balka Suman organised a mega blood donation camp to mark the birthday celebrations of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, in Mandamarri on Wednesday.

Suman appreciated the donors for giving their blood to patients of blood disorders thalassemia and sickle cell. He requested everyone to come forward to give their blood to the hapless patients. He opined donors would save the lives of victims of road accidents and would bring respite to patients with kidney-related ailments and other blood disorders.

He was the chief guest of a similar event held by MLA Diwakar Rao in Mancherial and another blood donation organized by legislator Durgam Chinnaiah in Bellampalli. Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS)-Mancherial chapter chairman K Bhaskar Reddy said that over 800 units of blood were raised during the camps. He expressed gratitude to the government whip and MLAs for coming to the rescue of the patients.
