Hyderabad: A total of 92.61 per cent out of 68,836 candidates who had appeared for the Common Post Graduate Entrance Tests (CPGET) 2021 were declared qualified.
The results of the CPGET 2021 conducted by Osmania University for admissions into various PG, PG diploma and five-year integrated programmes offered by seven universities in the State were released by Telangana State Council of Higher Education Chairman Prof R Limbadri and Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof D Ravinder here on Thursday. The results are available on the websites – www.osmania.ac.in, http://tscpget.com/ and www.ouadmissions.com.
This year, a total of 78,305 candidates registered and 68,836 have appeared out of whom 63,748 candidates qualified in the CPGET 2021.
Gender wise, more women have enrolled and appeared for the entrance tests compared to men. Out of 50,661 women who registered, 44,604 have appeared and 41,131 have qualified. In the case of men, 27,641 registered and 24,229 have appeared out of whom 22,614 were declared qualified in the tests.
Speaking to presspersons, Prof Limbadri said the online registration for admission counselling would commence from October 24 and web options and certificate verification from October 27. This time, the entire certificate verification would be conducted online.
Prof D Ravinder said for the past few years, more women than men were enrolling in higher education institutions due to various policies initiated by the government. Given the number of women qualifying in the various PG courses, the university may have to increase the number of hostels for them. Presently, there were seven hostels for women and 17 hostels for men, he said.
The OU V-C said the university’s executive council has approved an increase in the fee for various PG courses from this academic year. “Since last several years, there has been no fee hike. This nominal increase in the fee will not have any burden on the students as 95 per cent of them will be covered under fee reimbursement,” he said.
This year, there are a total of 41,174 seats in various PG courses. Of the total, 8,039 are in university and constituent colleges, 1,670 seats in PG centres and 31,465 seats in affiliated colleges.
The number of seats might further increase by 3,000 as the affiliation process has not yet concluded, CPGET-2021 convener Prof. I Panduranga Reddy said.
