Hyderabad: Vanajeevi Ramaiah participated in Green India Challenge initiated by Rajya Sabha MP, J. Santosh Kumar, and called upon everyone to plant a sapling this New Year.
He planting saplings at Ravindra Bharathi and said trees ware lifeline to the society and the very human existence is dependent upon the trees. “If trees are not there is no human existence,” he remarked.
Vanajeevi Ramaiah said he feel happy when he saw younger generation planting trees. He said his life long activity has been planting trees as Vanajeevi and the Green India Challenge had made it into a phenomenal movement. “What more happiness can I have than this,” he said.
In the programme, Vanajeevi Ramaiah’s wife Janakamma, Green India founder-member N Raghavendra Yadav, Telangana Sahitya Academy Chairman, Juluri Gowrishankar, DSP, Krishnaiah and others participated. Vanajeevi Ramaiah threw the green challenge at Central Sahitya Akademi awardee Goreti Venkanna and Devaraju Maharaju and Juluri Gowrishankar.
