Swimmers have fished out the bodies of children from Kamalapuram tank in Manoor Mandal of Sangareddy district on Friday.

Sangareddy: The bodies of four children, who drowned in Kamalapuram tank in Manoor Mandal on Thursday, were fished out by expert swimmers on Friday morning. The victims were identified as Sai Charan (11), his brother Sai Sampath, Vinod (12) and Mahesh (12). Sai Charan and Sai Sampath of Mangalpet near Narayankhed town were sons of K Pandu, while Vinod of Kamalapuram and Mahesh of Khanapur, were also residing in the neighbourhood. On Thursday afternoon, they went to Kamalapuram tank located some four kilometers away. Though they did not know swimming, they ventured into the tank unaware of the danger and drowned.

As the locals saw the clothes and cycles of the children near the tank, information has reached their parents, who rushed to the spot on Thursday evening. After hours of effort, they could fish out the body of Mahesh by night. They have fished out the remaining three bodies from the tank on Friday morning. Vinod’s mother Lakshmi, a widow, who works as a sweeper in Narayankhed bus depot, was weeping inconsolably. A pall of gloom descended on Mangalpet as four children from the village died on the same day. The entire village has gathered at victims residences. Several leaders and officials also visited the families. Inspector Ramakrishna Reddy, SI Lakshman have visited the place. The bodies were taken to Area Hospital Narayankhed for postmortem.
