November 29 marks the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian people. It was initiated by the United Nations to mark ‘the adaptation of UN’s resolution to partition Palestine into two States.’
On this occasion, the students of Pallavi Aware International School had called upon a school-wide virtual gathering. The students had first informed the gathering the reason for their gathering together on that day. The students went on to talk about the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People and about the recent conflict in Gaza.
The students educated the audience on what solidarity means and the thought of the day, “There is no solidarity without stability and no stability without solidarity,” rightfully explained the need for observing this day.
The students had taken up singing songs praying for a free Palestine and singing of the struggles of Palestinians, presenting these struggles to the audience from the perspective of Palestinians. In an effort to better understand the culture and lifestyles of Palestinians, the students had put in the effort to learn the traditional Palestinian Dabke dance and had given a performance of the beautiful dance form.
