The Pallavi Aware International School, Saroornagar organised a virtual assembly to mark National Girl Child Day on January 24. Students came up with different activities presenting the message on the importance of girl child through an oriented skit, graceful dance performance, informative talks and colourful posters with eyecatchy slogans that left the audience spellbound.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Sudeshna Mairal said that education brings in an essential transformation in human beings. She said that gender difference is one of the stereotypes which should be uprooted from society.

Never a child just because born as a girl, should be deprived of any opportunity in the journey of education. Every minute counts and every child amounts. Education is the only weapon that can change society, she said.

Students narrated the story of young activist Malala Yousafzai who raised her voice against all odds and strived for girls’ education which won her Nobel Peace Prize.
