Hyderabad: Believing in fulfilling the academic social responsibility, Pallavi group of institutions has conducted a session on ‘How to be a better parent’ for its very vital stakeholders, the parents. Speaking on the occasion, the director of the Centre for Human Excellence, Swami Bodhmayandaji said that a child’s life can be moulded by a parent by investing their time in telling stories of not only great personalities but also different mythological stories.
He reiterated that the children need to understand the importance of self-reliance and self-confidence. He sighted the examples of Swami Vivekananda and Abhimanyu who are the embodiment of infinite courage, patience and valour. He added that a child must be fearless so that he will stand for truth, for the only permanent thing in life is truth.
Sri Vishwanath, 85, an experienced Commerce professor from Osmania University took the session ahead with his thought-provoking ideas emphasising the need to have an ideal family wherein every day the members of the family spend at least 10 minutes together to discuss and share their ideas on different topics. He said keeping spirituality away from our lives will be a big mistake because the child should grow with a firm faith that he is the embodiment of the supreme power.
He said that the parents should help in making the children physically more energetic, mentally more alert, intellectually inspired, emotionally balanced, morally strengthened, spiritually awakened and socially responsible. He reiterated that if one loves the nation, they should treat parenting as a great honour and invest time in guiding the children to evolve into better citizens.
The session was a symphony of various thought-provoking ideas that dispelled the cacophony that goes on in the minds of many parents and it also provided answers to many of their questions. On behalf of the management, Principal T Tanuja expressed gratitude to both the speakers.
