Nalgonda: Miryalaguda MLA Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao on Thursday said that Palle Pragathi programme has brought a revolution of development in the villages in the State.
Inaugurating the grama panchayat building at Srinivasa Nagar, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh, Bhaskar Rao said that the works taken up under Palle Pragathi have aimed at creating a healthy atmosphere and developing infrastructure in the villages. New buildings for grama panachayats in place of the dilapidated ones were also taken up under the programme. Top priority was accorded by the State government for the development of greenery and ensuing cleanliness in the villages, he added.
He said that Palle Prakruthi Vanams also created lung spaces in the villages. Earlier parks were confined to urban areas only. Open gyms and libraries were also set up at the villages under Palle Pragathi programme, he added. He said that Palle Pragathi changed the face of the villages by improving the amenities and developing infrastructure. He underlined the need for coordination between the officials, elected representatives and people for effective implementation of any welfare scheme or development programme. People should also consider the protection of saplings planted under Telangana Ku Haritha Haram as their social responsibility. The State government had also initiated special measures to ensure survival of 85 per cent of planted saplings. The forest coverage area was increased to 28 per cent from earlier 23.4 per cent after taking up TKHH.
He reminded that the state government sanctioned Rs 3,627 crore for development of villages while Rs 2,221 crore was given for development of urban areas since 2020. It also continued the implementation of all welfare schemes and development projects even during the financial crunch. People should take part in the comprehensive development of the villages.
