Panic spreads as fire engulfs plastic recycling unit in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in a plastic itemsĀ manufacturing unit at Padmashali Colony in Bholakpur under Musheerabad police limits, triggering panic among residents on Sunday night.
The blaze reportedly originated in the plastic warehouse and quickly spread to adjacent shops and houses. Frightened locals rushed out of their homes as thick smoke engulfed the area.
Two persons inside the warehouse reportedly fell ill due to smoke inhalation and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is said to be stable. As per information, in total, five houses and two warehouses were affected in the incident.
On receiving information, fire department officials and police personnel rushed to the spot and deployed around 10 fire engines to battle the flames. After several hours of effort, the fire was brought under control on Monday early hours. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
