Pashamylaram factory blast: CM asks firm to pay Rs 1 crore to kin of deceased
CM Revanth Reddy said the firm behind the Pashamylaram blast must pay Rs.1 crore to families of the deceased, and Rs.10 lakh to those permanently disabled. With 36 deaths confirmed officially, a panel led by the Chief Secretary is overseeing relief.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said the company involved in the Pashamylaram reactor blast has been directed to pay Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of each deceased worker, and Rs.10 lakh to those who suffered permanent disabilities. In addition, Rs.5 lakh will be provided to those injured in the incident.
However, the Chief Minister did not disclose the extent of the State government’s contribution to the compensation package.
Based on preliminary inspection reports, the Chief Minister confirmed that the death toll in the incident had reached 36. At the time of the explosion, over 140 employees were on duty at the factory, and 58 of them managed to escape, he said.
Unofficial figures however put the toll at 45.
A majority of the workers were migrant labourers from Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister warned that stern action would be taken against those found responsible for the tragedy. He added that a committee led by Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao was already monitoring the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures.
