Sangareddy: Indirectly admitting that he had been with the Congress for some time in the hope of getting favours in certain issues, Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy said he did not receive any benefit from the government.
Speaking to his close associates ahead of the municipal elections, Mahipal Reddy said neither he nor his constituency had received any support from the Congress government. He said he was fighting all cases against him in the courts.
The MLA asked his followers to work towards the victory of Bharat Rashtra Samithi candidates in the five municipalities in the constituency. Having won on a BRS ticket for three consecutive terms from Patancheru, he called upon his associates to collectively work for the victory of 104 BRS councillors in these five municipalities.
Mahipal Reddy had switched loyalties to the Congress in 2024 after winning on a BRS ticket for the third consecutive time. The BRS subsequently filed a disqualification petition against him, along with several other turncoat MLAs. However, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad dismissed the petition against him.
Mahipal Reddy’s remarks gained significance as the municipal elections draw closer.
