Hyderabad: Former Telangana State Sports School weightlifter KVL Pavani Kumari clinched a gold and a bronze in the Senior Nationals Weightlifting Championships at the Biju Patnayak Indoor Stadium, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar on Monday.

The youngster won the yellow metal in the junior category and bronze in the senior category in the 45kg category. She lifted 66 kgs in the snatch and 85 kgs in clean and jerk for the top honours with a total lift of 151 kgs. Weightlifting coach at the Telangana State Sports School P Manikyala Rao said that Pavani has been performing well and will bring medals for the State.
