Khammam: Preventive Detention Act was invoked against a ganja peddler of Sarapaka village in Burgampahad mandal of Kothagudem district, informed Commissioner of Police (CP) Vishnu S Warrier.
In a statement here on Saturday, he said the accused Bojja Vamsi used to supply cannabis to make quick money. He was caught with 194 kg of cannabis worth Rs 30 lakh in a case under Raghunathapalem police station in Khammam Rural Circle.
Khammam Rural CI Satyanarayana Reddy shifted the accused to Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad and the relevant documents were handed over to the jail authorities. Focusing on organised crime, the district police was taking strict action against those who commit serious crimes, the CP said.
