Peddapalli Collector wants anti-drug committees in educational institutions
Collector Koya Sree Harsha instructed officials to conduct awareness programmes with doctors in Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, Model schools, Gurukulam schools and hostels to educate students about disadvantages with drugs and other narcotics.
Peddapalli: Collector Koya Sree Harsha instructed officials to form anti-drugs committees in all educational institutions in the district. People addicted to drugs and other narcotics should be joined in rehabilitation centers.
Collector conducted the district level narcotic control meeting with the officials of various departments at IDOC here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he instructed officials to conduct awareness programmes with doctors in Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, Model schools, Gurukulam schools and hostels to educate students about disadvantages with drugs and other narcotics.
Besides constituting anti-drugs committees, parents should also be explained in parents-teachers meetings about disadvantages with drugs, consequences with addiction to drugs and de-addiction centers established by the government.
Asking the parents to inform the officials if the children of their surrounding were addicted to drugs, the Collector informed that a ten bedded capacity de-addiction center was established in Godavarikhani hospital.
Forest officials should immediately alert the police if they found ganja cultivation in forest lands.
