Pedestrian crossing road run over by car in Mancherial

A 30-year-old man of Lambadithanda village in Bellampalli mandal, died after being run over by a car at Hajipur mandal centre. He sustained serious injuries on Saturday and succumbed later that night at a hospital in Mancherial.

Mancherial: A youngster was killed after a car ran over him while he was crossing the road at the Hajipur mandal centre on Sunday.

Police said Nune Rajashekhar, 30, from Lambadithanda village in Bellampalli mandal, sustained serious injuries when the car hit him on Saturday. He was admitted to a hospital in Mancherial town, where he succumbed to his injuries late on Saturday night.

Rajashekhar had recently come to Hajipur to visit his relatives. His cousin, Chintakindi Laxmi, lodged a complaint with the police. A case was registered and investigation are underway.

 

Mason ends life in Balapur pond after family dispute

Hyderabad: A man died by suicide after jumping into a pond at Balapur in the city on Friday night, the police said on Sunday. The man, Mohd Aslam (38), was working as a mason and lived with his family at Osmannagar, Balapur.

On Friday, the man left his house saying that he was going to work and did not return in the evening. The locals found his body floating in the Osmannagar pond on Sunday. With the help of local people, the police retrieved the body and shifted it to the mortuary.

The police said Aslam fell into depression after his wife and in-laws scolded him for spending large amounts of money on alcohol and is suspected to have ended his life by jumping into the pond on Friday night. A case has been registered.
