Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said that the people of Telangana were fortunate to have Chief Minister like K Chandrashekhar Rao who always thinks about the welfare of the people and added that the State government was giving importance to welfare of people and development of towns and villages in the State, stated Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
The Minister inaugurated CC roads laid with a cost of Rs 1.57 core in different municipal divisions under Khammam Municipal Corporation limits on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that modern technology was being used in laying roads for durability.

Later, Ajay Kumar distributed CMRF, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak cheques to the door step of the beneficiaries in Khammam city. 107 Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak cheques worth Rs 1.07 crore and 33 CMRF cheques worth Rs 18.73 lakh were distributed.
The Minister along with Mayor P Neeraja, DCC Bank Chairman K Nagabhushanam, SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi visited as many as 18 municipal divisions in the morning and evening to hand over the cheques and sarees to the beneficiaries.
He said the State government was now implementing Dalit Bandhu in all Assembly constituencies in Telangana to empower dalits. The process of receiving applications from the beneficiaries was going on. In each constituency 100 families would be selected, he noted.
The Minister appealed to the people in the district to be careful in the wake of the spread of Covid third wave. Every eligible individual has to take two doses of Covid vaccine and those above 60 years of age should take a booster dose, he added.
