Handicapped persons crawl into Sangareddy collectorate as there is no wheel-chair assistance

Persons with disabilities and elderly visitors to the Sangareddy Collectorate are reportedly struggling to reach the grievances hall due to the absence of attendants. Petitioners have urged Collector Prateek Jain to provide wheelchairs and appoint attendants to assist visitors

Sangareddy: Persons with disabilities visiting the Sangareddy Collectorate continue to face difficulties as there is no attendant to guide them to the grievances hall.

Although a wheelchair is available at the Collectorate for use by persons with disabilities and the elderly, some persons with disabilities were seen crawling into the conference hall on Monday when they arrived to file petitions during the grievance redressal programme.

A person with a disability from Dakur in Andole mandal, Gonemgari Raju, who came to the Collectorate to lodge a complaint with Collector Prateek Jain, was seen crawling into the Collectorate and out of the office premises. Several other persons with disabilities were also seen struggling in a similar manner.

They urged the Collector to provide two wheelchairs and appoint two attendants on Mondays, when dozens of people arrive at the Collectorate.

Several elderly and sick persons were also seen struggling while walking into the Collectorate every Monday, with the officials allegedly failing to address their difficulties.
