Petrol and diesel prices hiked by Rs 3 per litre amid Iran–Israel conflict crisis

Oil companies increased petrol and diesel prices by around Rs 3 per litre from Friday, citing disruptions linked to the Iran-Israel conflict and Strait of Hormuz crisis, with fuel rates in Delhi witnessing a sharp rise

Hyderabad: As anticipated in general, prices of petrol and diesel were hiked by the oil companies with effect from Friday. The hike will be around Rs 3 per litre for Petrol and Diesel.

After the hke, as per a PTI report, Petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 97.77 a litre, while diesel will be priced at Rs 99.67.


The price hike is necessitated in view of the crisis emerging due to the US – Iran – Israel conflict leading to closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The fuel prices in Hyderabad are:
Petrol : Rs 110.78

Diesel ; Rs 98.90

According to another PTI report, effective Friday, retail selling prices of petrol and diesel in four Metro cities are as under:

MS (petrol) prices (in Rs per litre):

Delhi 97.77 (+3.00)

Kolkata 108.74 (+3.29)

Mumbai 106.68 (+3.14)

Chennai 103.67 (+2.83)

HSD (diesel) prices (in Rs per litre):

Delhi 90.67 (+3.00)

Kolkata 95.13 (+3.11)

Mumbai 93.14 (+3.11)

Chennai 95.25 (+2.86).
