Pharmacy student held for cyber stalking, harassing woman in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Cybercrime police on Wednesday arrested a pharmacy student on charges of cyber stalking and harassing his schoolmate, a married woman now.
The arrested person was Ch. Charan (20), a second year student from a private college and a resident of Vanasthalipuram. Police said Charan met the victim when they were studying in a private school in 2015 and were friends since then. After schooling, they continued their friendship and met in person several times.
“During this, he proposed to her and she rejected. Later, she got married to another person. Since then, Charan bore a grudge against her and created a fake account on Instagram and started sending abusive messages and obscene photos and harassed her,” police said.
Based on a complaint, a case was booked and Charan was arrested.
