Pocharam laments lack of coordination again

Nizamabad: Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy once again pointed to a lack of coordination between Ministers and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He said the Ministers were hardly following the Chief Minister’s instructions.

The Banswada MLA, who is facing charges of defecting to the Congress, visited the Manjeera check dam at Birkur on Tuesday. Later, he addressed his followers at the venue and spoke about the difficulties he had faced under the Congress government.

Recalling his meetings with the Chief Minister to seek funds for development works, including hospital and irrigation projects, Srinivas Reddy said the Ministers were not acting on Revanth Reddy’s instructions.

The Chief Minister had asked Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to release funds for various works and approve projects. However, the instructions were not followed, the Banswada MLA said.

“Neither Bhatti nor Ponguleti even answer my phone calls. When I raised the issue with Revanth Reddy, he directed Vem Narender Reddy to ensure the funds were released. I called him 50 times over the phone, but he did not answer,” Srinivas Reddy said in a video circulating on social media.

He admitted that he shifted his loyalties to the Congress only after the Chief Minister assured him of support and promised to release funds for development works.

“Revanth Reddy promised to complete the pending works in six months. Only then did I don the scarf, which is a national scarf and not a party scarf,” Srinivas Reddy recalled.

He said contractors had suspended housing, hospital and other works midway due to delays in releasing funds. While the requirement was over Rs 100 crore, the government had released only Rs 30 crore, he added.
