Nizamabad: The turncoat MLA from Banswada Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has defended his remarks on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s administration, saying he had only spoken the truth.
The Banswada MLA is also facing charges of defecting to the Congress from the BRS.
Srinivas Reddy is facing criticism from Telangana Congress leaders over his comments. He had said on Tuesday that there was a lack of coordination between the Ministers and the Chief Minister.
He also alleged that Ministers were not following the Chief Minister’s instructions. Revanth Reddy had promised to complete pending works within six months, but funds were not being released by the Ministers, he said.
The remarks triggered an angry response from Congress leaders, who questioned the Banswada MLA’s intentions.
Srinivas Reddy defended his comments during a meeting at Banswada on Thursday. In a video circulating on social media, he said, “I only spoke truth about Revanth Reddy. What is wrong with that? I switched parties for the sake of the people, not for money.”
He said there was no political motive behind his remarks. “My life is dedicated to the people and constituency development is top priority,” he said.
Srinivas Reddy also said the previous BRS government had carried out several welfare and development works in the constituency. He said the Revanth Reddy government had also taken up a few works. “I acknowledge the good work done by both the governments,” he said.
