Police martyrs’ sacrifices will never be forgotten: Adilabad Collector
Police Martyrs’ Commemoration Day was observed across Adilabad and neighbouring districts with heartfelt tributes from officials and citizens. Collector Rajarshi Shah and other dignitaries honoured the sacrifices of police personnel, especially those who died fighting Maoists.

Adilabad: Collector Rajarshi Shah said that the sacrifices of police martyrs were unforgettable. He along with Adilabad MP G Nagesh, Boath MLA Anil Jadhav and Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan paid homage to policemen who had laid down lives in line of duty to mark Police Martyrs Commemoration Day or Flag Day observed here on Tuesday.
Shah opined that only police personnel could sacrifice their lives while discharging duties. He said that their sacrifices resulted in peace prevailing in the district. He asked everyone to remember the sacrifices. He assured that all support from the district administration would be extended to the police department and to the family members of the martyrs.
Akhil recalled that 50 policemen lost lives to fights against the banned Maoists in erstwhile Adilabad district alone, while 214 police personnel had laid down their lives in the line of duty in the country. He stated that a slew of social service activities were being conducted to mark the occasion. He hailed the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice.
Meanwhile, SP Kantilal Patil, Dr Janaki Sharmila and DCP A Bhaskar and Collectors Venkatesh Dothre, Abhilasha Abhinav and Kumar Deepak took part in similar events held in Asifabad, Nirmal and Mancherial district centres, respectively.
