Police seize 25 kg of cannabis-laced chocolates from Shamirpet pan shop

Hyderabad: The police arrested a Bihar native for allegedly selling cannabis-laced chocolates from a pan shop in Shamirpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad and seized 5,298 packets weighing around 25 kg on Friday.

According to the police, the suspect, Baidnath, and his wife, Pujari, both natives of Bihar, had been living in Shamirpet for some time and were running a pan shop. Police received information that the couple was allegedly using the shop as a front to sell cannabis in the form of chocolates, reportedly targeting youngsters and schoolchildren.

Acting on the information, police raided the shop and arrested Baidnath. During the search, they recovered 5,298 packets of cannabis-laced chocolates with a combined weight of about 25 kg. His wife is reportedly absconding.
