Police seize autorickshaw for not giving way to MLA’s convoy in Jagtial

An auto-rickshaw driver in Jagtial has alleged that police seized his vehicle for not giving way to the convoy of local MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar. The incident came to light after a video shared by the driver went viral on social media

Jagtial: In an act of high-handedness, Jagtial police seized an auto-rickshaw allegedly for not giving way to the vehicle of local MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar in Jagtial town.

Though the incident took place a few days ago, it came to light later after the autorickshaw trolley driver released a video that went viral on social media. According to the video, the driver, a native of Karimnagar, works at the Jagtial substation. On the day of the incident, he was travelling along with his workers after loading material in the autorickshaw trolley.

While passing through a narrow road in Jagtial, the MLA’s vehicle approached from behind with its siren on. However, he could not give way as the road was narrow. After crossing the vehicle, police reportedly took photographs of the autorickshaw trolley. Later in the evening, he was summoned to the police station along with the vehicle, where the trolley was seized.

Despite claiming that he had committed no mistake, the driver alleged that the police illegally seized the vehicle. He also alleged that the police advised him to bow before the legislator if he wanted the vehicle to be released from the police station.
