Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy counters KTR’s charges of irregularities in AMRUT 2.0 tenders
The Minister said after Cong govt came to power, it was observed that these tenders were 3.99 per cent excess, following which CM Revanth Reddy issued directions to officials to cancel the tenders and float fresh tenders with 2022-23 SSR rates.
Hyderabad: Countering BRS working president Minister KT Rama Rao’s charges of irregularities in AMRUT 2.0 tenders, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy claimed there were no irregularities and demanded the former Minister to prove his charges.
The previous government had floated these tenders for three packages with a total worth of Rs.3,516 crore in September 2023. Despite the election code being in vogue then, special permissions were obtained and price bids were opened in November, 2023. After evaluation, three companies were offered Letter of Agreement, he said.
Addressing media persons here on Saturday, the Minister said after Congress government came to power, it was observed that these tenders were 3.99 per cent excess, following which Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy issued directions to officials to cancel the tenders and float fresh tenders with 2022-23 SSR rates.
“Three companies filed their bids for works with 2.44 percent lesser than previous tenders. On the contrary, the former MAUD Minister charged that Rs.8,888 crore scam took place. I demand that he prove his allegations,” Srinivas Reddy said.
“If KT Rama Rao proves his charges, I will quit as Minister. If he fails, will he quit as MLA?” he asked.
