Hyderabad: Former Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his claims of success at Davos in attracting investments, and pointed out contradictions within the State Cabinet. He pointed out that while Revanth Reddy hailed the Davos investments as a major achievement, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu called them insignificant unless they result in job creation.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Lakshmaiah attributed the investments to policies implemented during former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s 10-year tenure.
“Investments are a continuous process. The foundations laid by Chandrashekhar Rao’s governance are bearing fruit now,” he said, citing Maharashtra as an example where the Devendra Phadnavis government was formed less than six months ago. He stated that investments come due to policy consistency, not personal appeal. He charged Revanth Reddy with distorting facts and called his leadership claims baseless.
Further, he noted significant IT growth during the BRS regime, with employment rising from 3 lakh jobs in 2014 to 9 lakh by 2023, alongside a four percent increase in IT innovation. “Hyderabad’s office space expanded to 7 lakh square feet due to Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision,” he added.
