Prefects of Delhi Public School take oath, accept responsibilities

Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills organised the school’s Investiture Ceremony — Mighty Marshalls for classes pre-primary to class VIII virtually. The event that saw proud faces of parents and hollering of excited children, is the time when students are given a name, a responsibility to take care of the status and decorum of the school.
This is when they pledge to make sure that the school reaches out to meet its expectations, the school explained about the event. Every year the school chooses students through the election. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and gusto. It was initiated with the lighting of the lamp to invoke the blessings of the Almighty.
A semi-classical dance was performed by the tiny tot which was a treat to watch. The event was followed by the address of the principal who introduced the chief guest AN Sinha, IG-cum-Chief Security Commissioner, South Eastern Railway and welcomed school chairman M Komariah, other dignitaries, parents and students.
She explained the process of election and selection and shared the schools’ achievements with the gathering. Chairman Komariah thanked the chief guest and spoke about the school’s growth from the time of its inception. The event was then followed by the pipping- in ceremony and principal Sunitha Rao, headmistress Neetu Guptha and chief guest Sinha announced the new student council members.
The newly elected student council members including house captains, vice-captains, and white-badge holders, head girls and head boys took the oath to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them. Addressing the gathering chief guest AN Sinha congratulated the members of the student council. He spoke about leadership and how it helps in one’s life. He enlightened the gathering with his words of wisdom.
