Nalgonda: Rock bruising of the prehistoric period was explored in a hillock on the outskirts of Ramalingalagudem village at Tipparthi mandal in Nalgonda by archaeologists.

This apart, a scene of a man fighting a tiger, created by stone implements through a hitting technique, was also spotted.

The rock art was datable to the Neolithic period (6,000-4,000BCE), he said.

The figures reveal the lifestyle of the prehistoric man engaged in hunting animals and the inner urge to cull out his experience and encounters with the nature, he said.

The archaeologist also noticed that rock shelters, which the Neolithic man used as temporary camp sites, and grooves were formed due to sharpening of stone axes.

Silpi Venkatesh also participated in the exploration programme.
