Kothagudem: A priest at Sri Peddammatalli temple, under Endowment Department, at Jagannadhapuram village in Paloncha mandal in the district was found stealing money from a hundi at the temple.
The incident was recorded on a CCTV camera on January 29. The priest Sheshu Shastri was seen stealing money from a hundi during afternoon hours on the day when no one was at the temple, said the temple officials on Thursday.
The temple Executive Officer Sankatala Srinivas has issued notice to the priest asking him to give an explanation. The priest was said to have been suspended for four months in February 2021 for stealing a devotee’s pendant.
