Hyderabad: The family of a Shiva temple was trapped in the temple amid severe Musi flooding in Puranapool. Four panicked family members spent the entire night with no help reaching out to them. The incident came to light on Saturday morning after the temple priest raised an alarm seeking help to rescue his family.
Floodwater from the Musi River rose steadily on Friday afternoon after the floodgates of the twin reservoirs were opened. By Friday night, the entire temple was submerged. Consequently, there was no other option but to seek refuge atop the temple’s rooftop.
On Saturday morning, the HYDRAA DRF teams rescued the priest’s family using a large crane.
