Hyderabad: The documentary ‘Prodduturu Dasara,’ presented by Balcony Originals and Bushetti Jewellers and produced by Prem Kumar Valapala, was screened on Friday. The special screening of the documentary, directed by Murali Krishna Tumma was attended by Karuna Kumar, Viplav, Mahesh Vitta and Uday Gurrala.
Speaking at the screening, Director Karuna Kumar praised the film saying, “A good documentary has a larger reach than a film. Prodduturu Dasara feels incredibly engaging and wonderful, breaking stereotypes about the format. Yashwanth Nag’s music gave me goosebumps, and the use of AI was brilliantly showcased. A documentary is history in visual form.”
Actor Mahesh Vitta recalled, “Dasara in Prodduturu is celebrated magnificently in ten temples over ten days. On the 11th day, there’s no space for vehicles, and fireworks from Shivakasi light up the sky. The festival is truly spectacular.”
Director Uday Gurrala said, “Documentaries preserve truths for future generations. This one has captured the grandeur of Prodduturu Dasara beautifully. I wasn’t aware it was celebrated so grandly in the Telugu states. Yashwanth Nag’s music was amazing.”
Producer Prem Kumar noted, “Balcony Originals was started three years ago. People thought our area was only about violence, but now I want to showcase stories rooted in culture. Yashwanth’s music and Nikhil’s camera work were outstanding.”
Actor Viplav added, “I’ve known Prem for long and hope he takes me to the next Dasara celebration.”
Jayasimha said the visuals showcased the grandeur of the festival, applauding the uncompromising quality. He wished Balcony Originals many more projects.
Director Murali Krishna thanked Prem Kumar for support and said he did his best to bring the documentary alive.
Actor Davood, who hails from Prodduturu, said, “I always told people about the grandeur of Dasara in our town. With this documentary, the celebrations have been shown to the entire world.”
