Videos of girl students recorded in Medchal engg college hostel washroom, protests erupt

Students say around 300 private videos recorded in last three months, allege that college management threatened them with dire consequences if issue went out

Hyderabad: Protests erupted at an engineering college in Medchal on Wednesday over the recording of private videos of girl students in a hostel washroom.

According to protesters, around 300 private videos were recorded in the girls’ washroom over the last three months. They suspect the involvement of hostel workers.

The students alleged the college management kept the issue under wraps and threatened them with severe consequences if the issue goes out.

On knowing the matter, the ABVP, along with college students, staged a protest on the college premises.

The students demanded a thorough inquiry into the issue and wanted strict action to be initiated against persons behind it.

The local police reached the college and are trying to bring the situation under control.
