Karimnagar: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Sunday said Huzurabad would emerge as a model constituency for the entire nation with the implementation of the Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme. “Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao launched Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme, which is being implemented in Huzurabad Assembly constituency as a pilot project, to change the lives of Dalits and pull them out of poverty,” the Minister said.

Wishing that the entire Dalit community achieve 100% success under the scheme, he said the success of Huzurabad Dalits should serve as inspiration for Dalits in other parts of the State. The Minister was speaking after welcoming about 2,000 youth from BJYM and ABVP into the TRS fold in Jammikunta.

Harish Rao pointed out that earlier, Dalits could never get loans despite making rounds of government offices and banks. “Under Dalit Bandhu, however, people of the community are getting money without putting in applications or running from pillar to post,” he said, adding that there was no need to repay the money. He advised the Dalits to use the money wisely and ensure that they come out financially strong. “Instead of approaching others for employment, Dalits should be in a position to provide jobs to others,” he said.

The Minister advised the community people not to take investment decisions in hurry and choose businesses only after discussing thoroughly. He advised them to go in for dairy, milk production and centring work. There are also possibilities in medical shops, liquor shops and contract works, he said, adding that the Chief Minister would soon introduce reservations in these fields.

Besides Huzurabad, beneficiaries can also establish units in Karimnagar, Warangal and Hanamkonda, the Minister informed and wanted the people to achieve get a hundred per cent success through hard work. Informing that the Congress government was contemplating to give Huzurabad party ticket to a Dalit candidate, Harish Rao predicted that Congress would not get a deposit. Congress is going to humiliate community people by giving ticket to a Dalit candidate.
