Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar inaugurated liquid oxygen generation plant at Government Area Hospital at Bhadrachalam in Kothagudem district on Tuesday.
Kothagudem: A liquid oxygen generation plant with a capacity of 13,000 kilo litres has come up at Government Area Hospital, Bhadrachalam in the district. Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar inaugurated the plant formally at a programme held at the hospital on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said with the installation of an oxygen generation plant, the issue of oxygen shortage at the hospital was addressed permanently. The supply of oxygen was essential for Covid-19 patients. The Area Hospital was offering treatment to the highest number of patients in the district and hence, the oxygen generation plant was set up at the hospital, he said.
The patients at the hospital were being supplied oxygen with 100 cylinders daily as well as with an oxygen generator plant having capacity of 300 litres per minute and now the liquid oxygen generation plant has been added. The new facility would make it easy for the doctors to provide medical treatment to nearly 140 people at a time and the Covid-19 patients who were in critical condition need not worry about oxygen supply, Ajay Kumar noted.
The Minister visited the Covid-19 ward, interacted with the patients giving them confidence and distributed food packets. He told the doctors to ensure proper supply of oxygen, meals, drinking water, hot water, medicines and others.
Later on the day, Ajay Kumar chaired the district level high-power committee meeting at Bhadrachalam Sub-Collector’s Office to review Covid-19 prevention measures and health services being provided to the patients. The availability of oxygen in public and private hospitals, beds, medicines, Remdesivir injections, antigen testing kits, door to door fever survey, meals for Covid patients and other related subjects were discussed with the authorities at the meeting.
Government Whip Rega Kantha Rao, ZP Chairman Koram Kanakaiah, MLA Podem Veeraiah, MLC B Lakshminarayana, District Collector MV Reddy, ITDA project officer P Gautham, Additional Collector D Anudeep and DM&HO Dr. JVL Sirisha were present.
