Hyderabad: Rahul Radhesh struck a stroke-filled century (101, 48b, 8×4, 8×6) to fashion Karimnagar Diamonds’ thumping 133-run win over Medak Falcons in the Sreenidhi University TG20 League cricket championship at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Tuesday.

Batting first, Diamonds scored 232 for four in 20 overs, with opener Satwik Reddy (35, 18b, 4×4, 2×6) firing at the top even as his team lost quick wickets to be reduced to 58 for three in seven overs.

Then, Rahul Radhesh and Chandan Sahani (56 n.o., 36b, 5×4, 3×6) put on a brilliant 163-run stand for the fourth wicket, which effectively pushed the Falcons on to the defensive.

Falcons tried all their bowling options as all eight bowlers rolled their arms over but could not stop Radhesh and Chandan from dominating the attack during their century stand.

In reply, Falcons suffered early blows, losing openers Ishan Sharma (0), Adithya Varma (12) and Vikram Naik (10) to be reduced to 26 for three in 4.2 overs. Varun Yerram (9) and Surya Teja (1) then fell in quick succession, leaving the team at a disappointing 48 for five in 8.4 overs.

Captain T Ravi Teja batted well (37, 28b, 5×4), but the rest of the batters failed to come good against a disciplined bowling attack, with Shubham Sharma (two for 16) and Ashish Srivastav (two for 13) being the pick of the bowlers as Falcons were bowled out for a disappointing 99 in 19.1 overs.

Rahul Radhesh was named the Player of the Match.

The scores: Karimnagar Diamonds 232/4 in 20 overs (Satwik Reddy 35, Rahul Radhesh 101, Chandan Sahani 56 no) bt Medak Falcons 99/10 in 19.1 overs (T Ravi Teja 37, Ashish Srivatsav 2/13, Shubham Sharma 2/16).

Player of the Match: Rahul Radhesh.
