Hyderabad: Telangana Cricket Association general secretary D. Guruva Reddy said that despite the BCCI’s order dated July 11, 2021 directing the HCA to consult and collaborate with the TCA for cricket activities outside Hyderabad, HCA continued to ignore and that there was no meaningful consultation or collaboration.
“ The TG20 League appears to have been conducted without complying with HCA’s own Rules 28 and 30 regarding approvals and governance. If established, the consequences under Rule 31 would require examination by the BCCI and other competent authorities,” Mr. Reddy said.
“ Although franchises were named after Telangana districts, numerous talented cricketers registered with TCA from those districts were ignored during player selections,” he said.
“The TCA has received written complaints alleging that certain team officials entertained monetary considerations while selecting players. These complaints deserve an independent inquiry by the appropriate authorities,” Mr. Reddy said.
“Questions remain regarding expenditure, ticketing, hospitality arrangements and the overall utilisation of HCA funds. Complete financial transparency and public accountability are essential,” he said.
“Ironically, even before the tournament concluded, members of the governing structure reportedly claimed losses of around ₹15 crore and attempted to attribute them to TCA. Such statements only reinforce the need for an independent financial audit and disclosure of all revenue and expenditure,” the TCA official said.
