Rainwater floods apartment cellars in Ameenpur, cars damaged
Heavy overnight rains flooded apartments in Raghavendra Colony, Ameenpur mandal, submerging cellar parking areas and damaging several cars. Multiple parts of Sangareddy district received heavy rainfall, with rescue efforts underway to pump out water and recover vehicles
Sangareddy: Apartments built in low-lying areas were flooded at Raghavendra Colony in Ameenpur mandal following overnight rains. Floodwater entered cellar parking areas where dozens of cars remained parked.
The cars were seriously damaged as the owners were in deep sleep when floodwater entered the parking areas. The residents have roped in JCBs to pull out the cars from the cellar while pumping out the water.
Meanwhile, several parts of Sangareddy district received heavy rains during the last 24 hours up to 8.30 am on Tuesday.
RC Puram and Ameenpur mandals recorded 114 mm and 81 mm rainfall respectively, while Patancheru and Sirgapur received an average rainfall of 50 mm. Most parts of Siddipet and Medak also received drizzles throughout the night.
