Raiyan Faisal wins two golds, sets Telangana shooting record
Telangana junior rifle shooter Raiyan Faisal Yousufuddin won two gold medals and set a new State record at the Second Telangana Big Bore Shooting Championship. He scored 287/300 in the 300m Rifle Prone Junior Men Individual event
Hyderabad: Telangana’s promising junior rifle shooter Raiyan Faisal Yousufuddin produced an impressive performance at the Second Telangana Big Bore Shooting Championship, winning two gold medals and setting a new record in the junior men’s category.
Raiyan scored an impressive 287/300 in the 300m Rifle Prone Junior Men Individual event, finishing first and setting a new Telangana State record in the category. He also secured gold in the Men Individual category, again scoring 287/300.
The official athlete history report of the National Rifle Association of India records Raiyan as the rank-1 finisher in both events.
Raiyan made his mark in 2024 by winning gold in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men Individual event at the India Open Competition in Goa, scoring 580/600 and finishing first.
He also won gold at the 15th South Zone Shooting Rifle/Pistol Championship 2024 in Chennai in the 50m Small Bore Free Rifle Prone Junior Men category, scoring 578/600 and finishing first, besides winning a bronze medal in the men’s category. Later that year, he added a silver medal at the 34th All India G.V. Mavlankar Rifle Event in the Junior category.
At the 67th National Shooting Championship Rifle 2024 in Bhopal, Raiyan competed in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men Civilian and National Championship events. He was also part of the Junior Men team that finished third in the Civilian Championship with a combined score of 1838.00.
In the 68th National Shooting Championship Rifle 2025 in Bhopal, Raiyan was part of the gold-medal-winning Junior Men team in the 50m Rifle Prone ISSF Civilian Championship, with the team recording a combined score of 1840.40.
During 2025, he also competed in the 16th South Zone Shooting Championship, 34th All India G.V. Mavlankar Rifle Event, 23rd KSS Rifle Championship and national selection trials, gaining valuable experience at major competitive platforms.
In 2026, Raiyan continued to demonstrate consistency at the XII Telangana State Rifle/Pistol Championship, scoring 576/600 in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men and Youth Men events while also securing two bronze medals during the state meet. He also competed at the 24th KSS Rifle 2026 in Bhopal, where he recorded 603.1 in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men event.
