Rape of Class 7 girl: Public sets accused’s home on fire in Siddipet
A 19-year-old youth allegedly entered the home of a 7th-grade girl while she was alone. When she cried for help, neighbors quickly intervened and beat him.

Siddipet: Tension prevailed as relatives of a rape victim and villagers set the accused’s house on fire besides damaging his car, JCB, and a two-wheeler at Gavarannapet village in Komuravelly mandal on Sunday.
The 19-year-old youth reportedly entered the 7th-class girl’s home in the village, when she was alone at home. When she cried out for help, the neighbours rushed to her rescue and beat him.
Following the incident, the family members of the accused fled from the village, fearing an attack from the victim’s family. Meanwhile, the police took the accused into custody. The girl was taken to a government hospital in Siddipet for tests.
As the villagers were attacking the house and vehicles of the accused, the police found it difficult to control the situation. A huge numbers of police force mobilised from Komuravelly, Cheriyal and other neighbouring police stations was rushed in. The situation was still tense in the village when the reports came in last.
