Seven teachers hurt as school lift crashes in Nizampet

Hyderabad: Seven persons, all teachers, were injured after a lift suddenly collapsed at a private school in Nizampet on Friday.
The incident occurred when the suspension cable of the lift snapped and the compartment plunged from the first to the ground floor.
Seven teachers identified as Shravani, Rajitha, Deepika, Pratyusha, Rajini, Nagashree, and Lakshmi Durga were hurt in the incident. Four of them sustained leg fractures, while others received minor injuries.
The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and are probing possible negligence in the maintenance of the lift.
